Assumption is the Devil

Why do people think they can get away with CRAP?

EXAMPLE:

Employers that decide to schedule you outside your availability.

You tell them when you can work then they schedule you outside your availability and when you confront them about it, the answer you get is "I wasn't aware of that."

QUESTION: Why fill out an availability form for a reference if the person that's supposed to use it doesn't actually apply the data? How could you possibly be unaware?

ARGGGGGGhhhhhh!!!!!

Granted, I do realize that the task of doing a schedule for over 100 employees that all have different needs etc. Is no easy task nor one that anyone wants. Technology has come a LONG way. Now our availability is plugged into a computer and the only human involvement is to adjust it accordingly to the specifications on the availability Form we've previously filled out.

Whatchu thinkin? If there is any mention of working extra to help out the assumption automatically is that you can work everyday all day.. Lost in translation. I said that I wanted to discuss the possibility of doing so. You give them an inch they assume they can take a mile. Why? You should know that will only make it so that I won't want to "volunteer" or "help" your cause in the future. Don't you see that?

Please, if you can do one thing for me, Never Again play the Dumb Card. What a waste of intelligence. If you're going to be a liar, become a clever one. Use vocabulary or extensive elaboration. Creativity people, it's not a bad option.

Oh, I see. You can't do that because that would require an original thought. That's not part of the "programming" that you get when you become a manager. That also means that you're an individual and not part of the collective, aka CORP. You wonder why I don't want to have any part in that cup of tea? You obviously don't know who you're dealing with.

Are my request extremely outlandish to be considered?

Is it really too much to ask?

In my own defense:
I'd like to mention that I really would do anything to help another human being out in a heart beat. I honestly do like people in general and want to make the world a better place if at all possible. This is my voice to the world and to refine it I write it out.

Employers are often very apathetic when it comes to seemingly small duties like scheduling, even though that is there job. They manage.
I think sometimes you need to let yourself be angry (maybe frustrated) at people when they are doing something stupid. As long as you dont get so angry that it effects your judgement, frustration can be justified.
