TIME

we all look at it differently.
some say that time speeds by too quicky, moves too slow or can't be fast enough.
what is it for you?
how do you measure it?
years? day? minutes? birthdays? milestones?

Why wear a mask

Why wear a mask?
Is mediocrity enough?
most of us are daily wearer's of a mask or costume of sorts.
our true potential hanging just within our reach but never grasped and or embraced.we hide our faces as to protect ourselves from failure or rejection possibly.
are those consequences really all that horrible?
are they really consequences or opportunities in disguise?
we wear a costume to pretend that we're something we're not even for just a moment.
for some these items they place upon themselves give them the liberation from an otherwise, in their mind, boring or less than par self.
why is it that cloth, a wig or mask can set you free?
is this just the easy way out?
is it really more difficult to keep the mask off and find the same liberation?
I say yes.
with so many variables pulling us in all different directions it's almost impossible to find balance and a center.
Almost, being the key word there.
you can make a list of all the millions of things that are Almost impossible.
if you look at the word IMPOSSILE the "IM" is the smaller part of the word and "possible" is the better half of the word.
Person One: dwells on the latter portion of this two word defeatist, impossible, may never accomplish anything in life. This person strives for mediocrity.
Person Two: will see and focus their energy on the tiny fraction of possibility, and will find a way to make things happen. This person strives for greatness.
which one are you?
why let 2 letters keep greatness from happening?
don't let 2 letters be your mask to hide behind.

Perspective

Everything happens for a reason and how It needs to so that we can reach our full potential in life. Our agency allows us to chose how we get there. some take the easy road and others the hard because we are all different and learn in our own way. I learn vicariously through others mostly, but others have to go and do in order to understand, consequences and all. life's not all peaches and cream and nobody's perfect. we pick our battles in life and what's worth our time. as long as you let the Lord play his part in all your decisions and have faith in him you'll never be lead astray. know yourself. trust yourself. trust your heart and the spirit of the Lord to be your guide.

Step beyond your zone of comfort

When I told a new acquaintance that I get stage fright and can't do any sort of performance in front of groups exceeding the number of 5 people they're response was utter shock.
they told me that I was the most outspoken and friendly person they knew and couldn't believe I could possibly have any such shyness.
oh, yes I could...
I haven't always been "miss talks to everyone, can I be your friend."
believe you me it's been a long time coming and some serious work to get to where I am today.
what really is there to fear in speaking up?
to say hello to a stranger...
what's the worst to happen?
rejection?
if that's the worst conclusion, if you really think about it, you just back to square one.
square one being not knowing them. Where's the loss?
there's plenty of other people in the world
if one doesn't respond to your liking move on and look at it as their loss.
quality people not quantity if you ask my opinion.
life can be simple and very fulfilling if you allow it to be.
use your filter and find the gems.
they are out there.
so, refine your eyes and ears and your collection can become priceless and of rare beauty.

whatchu thinking???

At what point in life does one realize their affinity for hot pink?
a few days ago I had yet another pink flamingo man sighting.
from head to toe he's decked out in hot pink
his hair is pink
hat-pink
clothes..
Fanny pack..
shoes...
everything.
wow!
Now, all those who know me are aware of my affinity for nerds and also midgets.
I've always had the one for nerds but the midget thing is a recent occurrence.
something about the One Man Dinner and Hatch's Chocolate shop on E St....
or maybe it's the obsession with the Wizard of Oz that I had when I was very young...
who knows?
what goes through a grown man's mind while getting dressed that would make him think that hot pink was definitely his season?
to be cont'd....

speak into the mic

for the longest time i felt the things i had to say were not of any importance to anyone else.
in response to this i chose to be silent.
what a waste!
i've recently found my voice.
my thoughts are valid and are being heard.
not only heard but listened to.
liberation!!!!!
thank you to those open ears.

Class Dismissed

i've come to realize that everyday is a new beginning. A clean start is always best.
wisdom from the day before carries over and it builds.
i consider myself a student of life.
my eyes are open to all there is to learn and i ask the questions that need to be asked and answered.
one of the most important ones that i feel is WHY?
this is how i continue to be a student.
each new experience is another chapter in the book i like to call life.
people add the colors that we see and help us along the way to find ourselves.
if we make a conscious effort to get to know everyone our picture only becomes brighter and more clear.
my challenge to others is to be sincere and be the first to say hello.
don't stop yourself from possibly making the best friend you've ever met by not saying something.
